Social laboratories
Social laboratories is a catchphrase - and it is a serious methodological concept to bring together people and problems to develop new and better solutions1. Social laboratories offer a platform for extended investigations that are
social| by bringing different people from various backgrounds together;
experimental| by focusing on a question and applying a methodology for analysing ideas and creating interventions; and
systematic| by applying a structured, analytic approach using objective templates and matrices.
The incubator workshop|, developed by dickmann risk communication drc|, is one format of the social laboratories to systematically develop new and better solutions using the dynamic and intelligence of groups.
